Curantis Capital Management S.A., headquartered in Luxembourg, was founded by seasoned entrepreneur and investor Timo Valla (Finland) to pursue a growth-and-buyout private equity strategy across Europe, focusing on mature businesses and targeting acquisitions of up to 100% ownership.
Investment principles
Curantis Capital Management S.A. wants to purse a private equity strategy in stable and growing sectors, inter alia, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, retail and other, focusing on the fundamentals of potential targets. When evaluating investment targets, key focus areas are:
Privately owned companies
Mature business that has been generating positive EBITDA for at least 3 consecutive years
Target brackets for EBITDA of a Target: EUR 5M - EUR 20M
Holding period: 1-5 years, depending on appetite for exit value
Key markets: Nordic countries, Baltic countries, Eastern Europe
First-generation owners or second-generation owners are viewed as priority
EBITDA: minimum EUR 1M
EBITDA multiples: in line with external evaluations
Target IRR in projects: 15%+
Target shareholding: 51% up to 100%

Number of Transactions and Target Size of SCSp
Curantis Capital Management S.A. is maintaining professional relationship with a number of potential investors, that could act as LPs in the SCSp. Given the potential size of transactions in line with Investment Principles, we foresee 2-3 transactions conducted per year.

Curantis Investment Management S.A. governance and management will be organized as follows:

All members have 15+ years experience in their respective fields, covering M&A, Business management, Finance, Law and Banking.
Strategic Goals and Unique Selling Point
Strategic Goal of Curantis Investment Management S.A. is to capitalize on extensive sectoral, managerial and M&A knowledge and experience of its leadership team to pursue private equity opportunities, with Private-Equity mindset and principles in the key markets within the Investment Principles to generate adequate return to limited number of LP’s.
LPs are well-informed investors, EU citizens, entrepreneurs that seek diversify away from own businesses and to have exposure to mature, EBITDA-profitable businesses in said sectors, where future exit can be reasonable expected towards a strategic buyer or Private Equity fund.
Private Market strategy and Regulatory Aspects
Executive and Advisory team of Curantis Investment Management S.A. consists of seasoned professionals with strong backgrounds in business, management, finance, M&A and law. Ground principles of Curantis Investment Management S.A. is to deliver returns to LPs through investing and exiting from private markets investments after holding period, by carefully sticking to the Investment Principles. After gaining some mileage and exit track record, Curantis Investment Management S.A., subject to relevant legal advice, will explore licensing opportunities in RAIF or AIFM, backed by ambition to reach larger AUM size and larger number of investors including Institutional investors.

Timo Valla
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Timo Valla is a senior executive, entrepreneur, and business advisor with over 30 years of experience in the consumer goods sector, spanning marketing, sales, production, and general management.
He has extensive expertise in new business development within emerging markets, including privatization initiatives, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and start-up ventures.
Mr. Timo Valla brings significant board-level experience, having served on the boards and supervisory boards of multiple companies (eg. Unilever, Cultor Group/Vaasan&Vaasan, Kesko, The Body Shop).
As a private entrepreneur and business consultant, he has successfully completed numerous M&A transactions and developed investment-ready business cases for international funds, private equity, and real estate investors over the past two decades, with a particular focus on the Baltic region and Scandinavia.
Oliver Lansac
Board Member
Mr. Olivier Lansac has more than 25 years of experience in Luxembourg’s financial services sector, with deep expertise in Structured Finance and Capital Markets gained over seven years.
He served in senior roles at corporate service providers and at a major Luxembourg bank, where he led a corporate services team supporting fund administration activities.
Olivier holds a Master’s degree in Law from the Université libre de Bruxelles and a Master II (D.E.A.) in Public Finance and Tax Law from Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, providing him with a strong legal foundation and advanced expertise in taxation, public finance, and regulatory matters relevant to complex advisory and investment environments.
Veli-Pekka Pello
Chairman of the Supervisory Board
Mr. Veli-Pekka Pello is a Luxembourg-based executive, entrepreneur, and lawyer with over ten years of experience across Luxembourg investment fund structures, combining investment oversight, corporate governance and operational leadership in alternative assets and infrastructure.
He has held senior roles within Luxembourg AIFM environments as General Counsel and Conducting Officer, with responsibility for regulatory compliance, corporate governance and operational oversight. Earlier in his career, he worked in corporate finance and infrastructure advisory at KPMG, advising multinational companies, institutional investors, and public sector entities on infrastructure projects and M&A transactions.
In addition to his fund and governance background, Mr. Pello is an active entrepreneur and board member serving on the boards of Luxembourg holding companies and operating asset structures within international renewable energy portfolios and private investment vehicles.
Mr. Pello holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Commercial Law from City University, London. His background combines legal rigor with hands-on investment and board experience, making him a trusted contributor to supervisory oversight and governance within Curantis Capital.
Sandris Rūgums
Deputy of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board
Mr. Sandris Rūgums is a senior corporate finance professional with deep expertise in M&A cross-border transactions and international advisory work. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Eventus Group, a role he has held for more than 28 years, providing strategic leadership and international growth.
Throughout his career, Sandris has advised on numerous successful cross–border mergers and acquisitions, acting as a deal originator as well as a sell-side and buy-side advisor on complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions. His experience spans 17 markets worldwide, with a particular focus on Europe, the Caucasus, and the Middle East.
Viktors Bolbats
Member of the Supervisory Board
Mr. Bolbats is a passionate, results-driven banker and entrepreneur with over 16 years of experience in the financial sector. His career has spanned the full spectrum of finance – starting with hands-on relationship management for large corporate clients, later evolving into strategic oversight of complex loan portfolios and executive leadership, continuing in wealth management solutions for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
Mr.Bolbats holds BSc in Economics from Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, and MBA from Riga Business School.
In recent years, his primary focus has shifted to wealth management for international clients – both corporate and private. Out of Zurich Mr.Bolbats worked at Credit Suisse AG and Rothschild & Co Bank AG, developing close relationship with high-net-worth individuals and large enterprises to deliver tailored financial solutions that align with their long-term goals and cross-border needs.
